"Blazing A Trail: Dorothy Waugh’s National Parks Posters" an exhibit at New York City's Poster House.

Great graphic design is as inspired by the natural world as it can inspire us into nature herself.
If you find yourself in NYC this winter you will not be disappointed to experience the Post House' exhibit of Dorothy Waugh's inspired and bold series of National Park posters. Designed during another American low point, the Great Depression, these posters promoted hope in something greater. A feeling I believe we all need again.
America's great legacy, it's National Park system, is currently under serious threat of abandonment by the dominant political regime and exploitation by commercial interests. Layoffs of experienced and dedicated park staff and budget cuts have crippled operations. And plans are underway to sell off swaths of the parks, luckily facing bipartisan opposition. For now.
Remember where we started. Remember what we must protect. And see a great designer well ahead of her time.
